Helen Sullivan writes a column about animals and, occasionally, inanimate objects, for the Guardian. She has reported from South Africa, Lebanon, Australia and the Federated States of Micronesia for the New Yorker and the London Review of Books and her writing has been featured in the Best Australian Science Writing. Her first book, a memoir called Freak of Nature, will be published by Scribner in 2024.
