Andrew Dodd
Andrew Dodd is the director of the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne. He has been a journalist for more than 25 years, working in radio, TV, print and online.
He was a broadcaster at ABC Radio National, where he presented many of the network’s programs and founded the Media Report. He was a national reporter at ABC TV’s 7.30 Report and a business and media reporter at the Australian newspaper. He is co-host of the Media Files podcast for the Conversation.
Veronica Ridge
Veronica Ridge is an award-winning writer and editor, and co-founder of the Issimo publishing platform. She has held leading roles with major metropolitan newspapers, including senior editor of the Saturday Age and Sunday Age during 25 years at Fairfax Media.
During her time as editor of Epicure, the Age’s weekly food and wine section (2007–2010), Veronica won Best Food Journalist at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu World Food Media Awards for a series of three articles on food ethics and the future of food.
Jo Chandler
Jo Chandler is an award-winning freelance Australian journalist, author and editor. She has filed news and features from assignments across sub-Saharan Africa, Papua New Guinea, rural and remote Australia, Antarctica and Afghanistan. She has earned distinctions as an essayist, profile writer and narrative journalist, and is recognised across a range of specialty areas: science; environment; health; human rights; aid and development.
Jo teaches journalism at the University of Melbourne and is editor of The Citizen.
Jo worked for much of her career at the Age, culminating in roles as a Fairfax senior writer and roving national and international correspondent. In 2009 she earned a Walkley Award for commentary and analysis for articles generated by trips to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique.
Misha Ketchell
Misha has been a journalist for more than 20 years. He joined the Conversation late in 2010 and was managing editor of the team that launched the website in March the following year.
In previous roles he was Founding Editor of the Big Issue Australia and editor of Crikey. He has also edited the Melbourne Weekly, worked for the Age as a reporter and feature writer and spent several years at the ABC, where he was a TV producer on Media Watch and The 7.30 Report and an editor on The Drum.
