The Walter Lippmann Memorial Lecture

In partnership with the Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria, the Wheeler Centre presents the inaugural Walter Lippmann Memorial Lecture, exploring issues and ideas about multiculturalism in the contemporary world. World Vision chief executive officer Tim Costello delivers the 2011 Lecture, ‘Piecing Australia Together: The Paradox of Cultural Diversity in an Evolving Nation’.

Speakers, in order, were ECCV Chairman Sam Afra, Director Ross Barnett, Lippmann’s grandson Matthew Albert, former prime minister Malcolm Fraser and Tim Costello.

Malcolm Fraser

Malcolm Fraser (1930–2015) served as Australia’s 22nd Prime Minister from 1975 until he resigned from federal politics in 1983, after 28 years as the Federal Member for Wannon. He held several ministries during his time in Parliament, including Minister for the Army, Minister of State for Defence and Minister for Education and Science.
