An esteemed panel of experts come together to discuss why we must fight to protect freedom of expression in the face of increasing attempts to censor and silence critical voices.

Mary Kostakidis
Mary Kostakidis is a journalist and commentator with a particular interest in geopolitics, national security and foreign policy. For two decades she presented SBS World News and has long been an advocate for press freedom and human rights. In 2011 she joined Twitter for its capacity to break news, and showcase independent journalism and perspectives absent in the mainstream media. She has used the medium to report court hearings live, including the 4 week extradition trial of Julian Assange. She is at present defending herself against what she is a vexatious accusation of hate speech in legal proceeding brought by a Zionist. Mary continues to criticise Israel’s actions which the International Court of Justice termed genocidal.
