Get ready to be inspired by the next generation of Australian poetry.
Hosted by acclaimed poet and educator Emilie Zoey Baker, OutLoud Slam is a vibrant celebration of young voices and original storytelling. After two days of heats, join us at Melbourne Writers Festival for the Finals, where schools from across the state will take the stage to compete live in front of a panel of esteemed judges.
Often described as the Eisteddfod of English class, OutLoud showcases the most exciting young poets as they perform original works, written individually or collaboratively. Expect bold ideas, big feelings, surprise performances and the next generation of Australian poetry at its most electrifying.
