We’ve assembled some of Melbourne’s top editors in the one place to hear your story ideas – speed-dating style. You’ll be able to pitch to Crikey, SPOOK, Saturday Paper, Meanjin and Saturday Age editors.

Simon Mann
Simon Mann is the editor of The Citizen. Launched in 2013, The Citizen showcases the work of students in the Master of Journalism program at the Centre for Advancing Journalism.
A journalist for more than 30 years, Simon has held a series of senior reporting and editing roles at the Age, and is a two-time foreign correspondent having been based in Europe and, more recently, Washington DC. He was awarded the Walkley Award for international journalism in 1999 for his coverage of the war in Kosovo and refugee crisis in the neighboring Balkan states.
Marni Cordell
Marni Cordell is the editor of Crikey. She is the former editor and owner of news website, New Matilda, and is a strong believer in independent media.
She has also worked at The Australian and the ABC and has written for Guardian Australia.

Nick Melin
Nick Melin is the current editor and co-founder of SPOOK magazine – a cross digital/print publication centered around pop culture, politics, gender and the arts. During his time at SPOOK, Nick has managed the growth of the magazine from humble beginnings as a small blog to a printed publication released across 37 countries, and finally to the digital platform as it exists today.
His short career has also involved working as a marketing consultant for Crave Agency and as media coordinator for the Environmental Film Festival Melbourne. Outside his role at SPOOK, Nick is also currently writing a TV series, playing lots of Uno and trying his best to avoid paleo restaurants.
Margaret Easterbrook
Margaret Easterbrook is editor of the Saturday Age, a position she has held for three years. In her 25 years at the Age, she has held numerous editing and reporting positions. Highlights have included editing the weekend features section, Insight, night news editing, reporting from the Age's Canberra bureau, writing on media issues and covering Melbourne's failed bid for the 1996 Olympics. Away from journalism, Margaret is a keen traveller.
