We all know Jonathan Franzen is a twitcher. But did you know Tom Hanks likes to collect 1940s typewriters? Or that Johnny Depp likes to play with dolls?
Sadly, Tom and the two Johnnies couldn’t join us, but Sam Pang has persuaded some almost as familiar faces to reveal their unlikely obsessions. In the first of these monthly events, writer–comedian Kate Langbroek shares her love of op shops and Adam Zwar (creator–star of Wilfred and Lowdown) confesses he’s cuckoo for cats.

Kate Langbroek
Kate has become one of Australia’s most influential media personalities. Her career has spanned popular prime-time TV shows, top-rating breakfast radio, acting, as well as a host of writing credits.
Celebrated for her original style, wit and free spirit, she never treads the expected path and somehow manages to juggle a frenetic work career, busy social life and motherhood.
Kate helped change the Australian breakfast radio landscape with her unique and very personal conversational style for 12 years at Nova 100 Melbourne with Dave Hughes finishing up an amazing run at the end of 2013. She has since presented a series of special programmes for NOVA FM for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Kate is enjoying staying up past her previous breakfast radio bedtime to appear on television shows such as Have You Been Paying Attention, The Today Show, Studio 10 and co-hosting The Project.
Kate shares her witty and insightful look at the world with audiences through her weekly column in News Ltd’s national Sunday Style magazine.
Sam Pang
Sam Pang is a writer, presenter and broadcaster. His television credits include the hugely popular Santo, Sam and Ed’s Cup Fever and SBS’s coverage of The Eurovision Song Contest.
2012 sees Sam co-hosting Santo, Sam and Ed’s Sports Fever on Channel 7 and will also be seen in Agony Uncles on ABC1.
Previously, he hosted the history based comedy quiz show, ADbc, and for the past 3 years he has been the co-host of SBS’s coverage of The Eurovision Song Contest. In 2011 he was a creative consultant and writer for the The Marngrook Footy Show on ABC2.
Sam’s work in radio has seen him work for a variety of stations including Triple R, 3AW, ABC and Radio National.
In 2010 he was named in The Age Magazine as one of Melbourne’s Top 100 most influential, inspirational and creative people for the year.
Adam Zwar
Adam Zwar is a multi award-winning actor, writer and producer. He is best known for co-creating and starring in the Australian comedy series Lowdown (ABC, BBC4) and Wilfred (SBS), which was formatted in Russia and the US. More recently, Adam created the popular Agony series (ABC) – which is currently in its 5th season. Selected acting credits include Party Tricks, Rake, Howzat, as well as feature films The Wedding Party and Rats and Cats.
Zwar is currently producing various titles for High Wire Films, alongside business partners Amanda Brotchie and Nicole Minchin.
