AusArt Giving Day

On Thursday 23 October 2025, we're coming together for the very first AusArt Day, a national giving day dedicated to celebrating the arts in Australia. 

The Wheeler Centre is a hub of books, writing and ideas. We showcase and embrace innovation and cutting-edge technologies and ideas to empower audiences as well as nurturing emerging writers to develop a new generation of storytellers who reflect the diversity of Australian experiences.  

This AusArt Day, The Wheeler Centre thanks you for helping us continue our important work to connect and promote Victoria’s unique culture of writing, storytelling and ideas and ensuring we can keep inspiring and supporting the next generation of Australian writers and storytellers. 

Every dollar you donate today will be doubled thanks to the matched gift from our generous patrons Maureen and Tony Wheeler.

What is AusArt Day? 

AusArt Day is a nationwide, sector-wide fundraising initiative designed by Creative Australia to mobilise artists and arts organisations to raise funds for their work and creative ambitions on a single, powerful day. This unified call to action aims to amplify the visibility of arts philanthropy and inspire greater generosity across the country.    

This inaugural event is more than a fundraiser - it's a national public movement that celebrates and elevates the role of the arts in Australian life.   

It will take place for the first time on Thursday 23 October 2025.   

This program recognises the vital role the arts play in our communities and champions artists and organisations dedicated to creative expression.   

This new program is an invitation for everyone to give back in a way that directly impacts the future of arts and creativity. It’s not just about financial contributions — it’s also about sharing and recognising the incredible work of artists, educators, performers, and creators who enrich our world every day.
