Yumiko Kadota is a medical doctor in Sydney and debut author. Her memoir, Emotional Female, details the challenges women (of colour) face in the public health system, particularly in the male dominated field of Surgery. Yumiko has written for the Guardian and has appeared on ABC News, 7.30, The Drum, and SBS Insight. When she’s not talking about serious systemic issues she likes to joke around and even had her first go at stand-up comedy this year.
