Yogashree Thirunavukarasu

Yogashree Thirunavukarasu (she/her) is an actor, writer and spoken-word poet. She has worked in Malaysia, Singapore and has been based in Naarm/Melbourne since 2020. She performed her original spoken-word poetry for La Mama’s Cinematica (2022) and the War-Rak/Banksia Festival (2021). Her theatre and spoken-word piece, Starting Fires (Museum UNDONE-2021) was performed to a sold-out audience and high praise at the Kyneton Museum. Starting Fires was featured in the Australasian Drama Studies Journal (ADS 80) in April 2022. Thirunavukarasu has also worked within arts research, collaborating with Dr Dawn Lavalle Norman as a co-organiser for the Australian Research Council-funded playwriting competition, The Diotima Prize (2022-2023). She was a participant of the inaugural cohort of the La Mama Pathways program (2023) where she received mentorship and dramaturgical support to develop her first full-length play, Unestablished, which will be staged in La Mama HQ as part of the Autumn Season in June 2024.
