Yana Mokhonchuk

About

Yana Mokhonchuk, a Ukrainian writer and international relations scholar, is a devoted advocate for Ukrainian culture worldwide. With formative student exchanges in the US and Canada’s University of Toronto, she refined her skills and earned a degree in international relations at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine. Co-authoring and fundraising the publication of a book during university ignited her passion for the publishing and books industry. She worked as a journalist at Kyiv Post, the oldest and largest English-language newspaper in Ukraine. She also worked as a creative copywriter at creative & tech online university Projector, fostering Ukraine’s creative industry growth.

Amid her nation’s challenges, Yana co-created the Ukrainian Week in Toronto, spotlighting Ukrainian art, cinema, and education. Furthermore, she and other Ukrainian students abroad created an international project called Unissued Diplomas, aimed to honor the memory of Ukrainian students who lost their lives due to the Russian invasion. The exhibition took place in 45+ universities across 20+ countries.

Currently, Yana undertakes an internship at the Embassy of Ukraine in Australia, collaborating closely with the Ukrainian ambassador. Australia is the 30th country she has visited.
