Sushi Das
Sushi Das is an award-winning journalist and a journalism lecturer at RMIT University, specialising in fact-checking and information integrity. She was a fact-checker with RMIT ABC Fact Check and then associate director of RMIT FactLab, a fact-checking unit that worked in partnership with Meta to combat false information online. Das is a foundational director of the Oceania-Asia Society for Information Integrity and Safety (OASIIS) and provides training in fact-checking to journalists and community groups. Before joining RMIT, Das was a journalist with The Age newspaper for more than two decades, holding a series of senior roles, including news editor, feature writer, staff columnist and opinion editor. Her work has been recognised with two Melbourne Press Club Quill Awards. She is the author of Deranged Marriage, an east-meets-west memoir about arranged marriage and is now researching fact-checking for a PhD.
