About

Roger Averill works as a freelance researcher, editor and writer. He is the author of Boy He Cry: An Island Odyssey, an account of his time spent living on the remote Melanesian island of Nuakata.

The book was recently broadcast on ABC Radio Nationals’ First Person. His debut novel, Keeping Faith published by Transit Lounge earlier this year has been aptly described by The Courier Mail as ‘a tender beautifully written story set in suburban Melbourne.’

He has recently returned from Europe where he has been working on a biography of the influential sociologist and theologian Werner Pelz.
