Richard Watts OAM
Richard Watts OAM is an arts writer, broadcaster, critic and journalist based in Naarm/Melbourne. He has presented the long-running weekly radio program SmartArts on Three Triple R FM since 2004, and recently concluded a 17-year stint as Performing Arts Editor at arts industry website ArtsHub. Richard is a life member of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, a Melbourne Fringe Festival Living Legend and was awarded the 2019 Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards' Facilitator's Prize. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Green Room Awards Association in 2021, and a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in June 2024. Richard is queer, neurodiverse and barracks for Collingwood.
