Randa Abdel-Fattah works as a litigation lawyer and is also an internationally published award-winning author of six novels, with two more due for release in 2012.
Randa is published in 16 countries and has succeeded in breaking into mainstream popular fiction with unconventional Muslim characters. A passionate human rights activist, Randa is frequently sought for comment by the media. She uses her writing and talks to address issues of identity, race politics, prejudice, religion, human rights and bullying.
Randa is a regular speaker at schools and writer’s festivals in Australia and overseas. In December 2011 she received the ‘Role Model of the Year Award’ in the Australian Muslim Achievement Awards 2011, hosted by Mission of Hope and the University of Melbourne. In 2012 she will be releasing her first adult novel, No Sex In The City, her twist on traditional chick-lit
