Rachael Brown

Rachael Brown is an investigative journalist with the ABC. She’s held several postings, including Europe Correspondent from 2010-2013. She’s the creator, investigator and host of the ABC’s pioneer true-crime podcast, Trace.

Rachael’s review of the 1980 cold case of Maria James (Trace Season 1) sparked a new coronial inquest, and she published a book on the case (Trace: Who Killed Maria James? Scribe Publications). Trace 2, The Informer, tells the story of defence barrister turned police informer, Nicola Gobbo.

Rachael is a three-time Walkley Award winner. She currently reports for the ABC’s Background Briefing podcast.
