Nia Sims

About

Nia Sims is a freelance writer and former registered nurse who lives with a life-threatening, progressively debilitating autoimmune disease, scleroderma. Scleroderma dramatically affects her quality of life. She knows that scleroderma will likely impact the quality of her death – lung failure is one of a range of possibilities. This, along with 15 years nursing experience, and witnessing her fifty-six year old father’s deeply distressing, slow death in hospital, prompted her to become an activist for choice of Voluntary Assisted Dying for all Australians.
