Michelle Macklem

About

Michelle Macklem is an audio producer and artist. Using audio as an interlocutor, her work is concerned with the politics of voice, land and atmosphere. Her work uses sound – stars and stone, hands and wings, tables and trees – as a connective tissue between our bodies and the environment. She’s produced audio work for the BBC, CBC, ABC RN and NPR.

She currently works as a producer on 7AM and as a sound designer for a forthcoming Transmitter Media project. Prior to that, she worked as a producer at CBC podcasts where she produced the Webby award-winning podcast The Fridge Light, and Sleepover with Sook-Yin Lee. She’s the co-founder and creative director of the sound art project and community Constellations
