Marjon Mossamaparast
Marjon Mossammaparast is a poet and teacher from Melbourne. Her debut collection, That Sight (Cordite Books), won the 2019 Mary Gilmore Award and was shortlisted for the 2019 Judith Wright Calanthe Award. Her second volume, And To Ecstasy (Upswell Publishing, 2022), was shortlisted for the 2023 Kenneth Slessor Poetry Award. Mossammaparast's third volume of poems is forthcoming with Upswell Publishing in 2027.
Over the last two decades, Mossammaparast's poetry has appeared in a range of Australian literary journals and newspapers, including the Best of Australian Poems, the Griffith Review, The Saturday Paper and the Weekend Australian Review. She writes regularly for the Australian Book Review. Mossammaparast has lived in Iran, Italy, China and Macau.
