Lisa M. Given is Distinguished Professor of Information Sciences at RMIT University. She is Director of the Social Change Enabling Impact Platform and Director of the Centre for Human-AI Information Environments. A world-renowned expert in human information behaviour research, Lisa has received over $11 million in funding from such agencies as the Australian Research Council, Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and Canadian Institutes for Health Research, to examine how people use technologies at work, school and at home. A former President, and Fellow, of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Lisa is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and an award-winning media commentator. Her in-depth analysis of Australia’s social media ban, the global adoption of age assurance technologies, and the safety of online gaming has featured in global media including ABC News, The New York Times, The Washington Post and Wired Magazine.
