Kinfe

About

In Ethiopia, music plays an important part within culture: music is everywhere. Kinfe began his musical career in Ethiopia playing the Kirar, a traditional North Ethiopian instrument, before progressing to the keyboard. Kinfe has been playing the keyboard for 30 years. In Ethiopia he performed in many bands and with well-known singers, resulting in the production of numerous CDs and cassettes.

Eighteen months ago, Kinfe left his home country, Ethiopia, in order to seek asylum in Australia; he has been a member of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

He composed and performed with Jinja Safari on the Key of Sea Volume 2. This is his first Australian recording.
