Karen Gardner is a writer and researcher with an academic background in health services research and policy implementation. In recent years, her focus has shifted toward narrative non-fiction, translating her interest in systems thinking and complexity science into creative prose. Her work-in-progress, Swimmers, investigates the collision between genomics, grief, and the narratives we inherit. Bringing together research expertise and lived experience, she has contributed to international clinical guidelines as a consumer representative and has published in the Guardian Australia. She lives between Newcastle and Canberra.
