
The Wheeler Centre’s Hot Desk Fellowships are wrapping up for 2025 and in this instalment of The Next Big Thing series, we’re showcasing writers from the third intake of fellows.

Josephine Mead
Josephine has exhibited and been published widely, both nationally and internationally and has undertaken residency programs in Mexico, Portugal, Turkey, Greece and Germany. She was Chair of Artistic Directors for Blindside Gallery (2020-22), was a founding Artistic Director of MILK Gallery (2022) and was Communication & Program Coordinator at Res Artis: worldwide network of arts residencies (2021-2024). She co-founded Co- Publishing and participated in the Writing in the Expanded Field program through the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) (2022). She is currently the Community Coordinator at Blindside Gallery and regularly contributes to Art Guide.
