About

Jonathan Goldstein is the host and creator of the podcast Heavyweight. In 2016, the Atlantic named it the number one podcast of the year; in 2017 it received a Third Coast award (informally known as ‘the Oscars of radio’). The show has also received effusive coverage from the New York Times, Guardian, Buzzfeed, Time Magazine, GQ, Wired, USA Today, ElleFinancial Times, the New Yorker and other publications.

Previously, Jonathan created and hosted WireTap, a cult favorite that ran on CBC radio for 11 years. When it ended, the show’s goodbye video went viral – with over 30 million views. In 2015, Wiretap received the prestigious Prix Italia award for original radio drama.

Jonathan is the author of the novel Lenny Bruce is Dead (2001), the short story collection Ladies and Gentlemen, the Bible! (2009), and the memoir I’ll Seize the Day Tomorrow (2012). For almost 20 years, his radio stories have been featured on This American Life.
