John Collee

About

John Collee’s published novels include Kingsley’s Touch, A Paper Mask and The Rig, all published by Penguin in the UK and USA. In the past decade, as an Aussie-by-marriage and father of three, he has written or co-written a number of feature films including Happy Feet and Master and Commander.

John is a director of the film development company Hopscotch Features and of the climate action group 350.org Australia. He’s a member of the Australian Writers’ Guild Feature Film Committee.

John studied medicine in Edinburgh, Scotland, and worked as a doctor in the UK, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, the Solomon Islands and the former Soviet Union. From 1991 to 1996 he wrote a weekly column for The Observer in the UK. ¨¨
