Portrait of Jaclyn Booton

Jaclyn Booton

Jaclyn was the Wheeler Centre’s General Manager, overseeing its business strategies and event operations.

She has a background in the higher education and cultural sectors, with a focus on the performing arts. She holds a BA (Hons) in Performance Studies from the University of Sydney, where she spent several years teaching a range of undergraduate programs and conducting postgraduate research on large-scale outdoor performances. Following a period teaching English to Japanese teenagers (and learning Japanese slang from them), Jaclyn relocated to Melbourne in 2008.

Since that time, she has held senior management positions with two of Victoria’s leading small-to-medium arts organisations — Arena Theatre Company and Back to Back Theatre — and Australia’s national circus, Circus Oz. Jaclyn joined the Wheeler Centre in 2013.

She is a life-long bookworm, a board member of SYN Media, and sees no contradiction in being both an NRL fan and a lover of literature.
