Hasib Hourani

About

Hasib Hourani is a Lebanese-Palestinian writer, editor, arts worker, and educator living on unceded Wurundjeri Country. He is a 2020 recipient of The Wheeler Centre’s Next Chapter Scheme and his 2021 essay, ‘when we blink’ was shortlisted for The LIMINAL & Pantera Press Nonfiction prize and is published in their 2022 anthology, Against Disappearance. Hasib was awarded The Neilma Sidney Literary Travel Fund in 2022 and has been a fellow at the Varuna National Writers House in 2021 and 2022.

Hasib’s debut book will be published with Giramondo in 2024, excerpts of which have been published in Australian Poetry, Cordite Poetry Review and an anthology by Haymarket Books (upcoming). You can also find his work in Meanjin, Overland, Australian Poetry, and Going Down Swinging, among others.
