Hannah Richell

About

Hannah Richell now lives in Sydney with her husband and their two young children. Secrets of the Tides is her first novel and she is currently hard at work on her second.

After years of driving desks in publishing, marketing and film, she finally summoned the courage to do what she had always secretly wanted to do and wrote her first novel in stolen moments as her young son slept.

She explains: ‘Before that I was lucky enough to work in publishing, marketing books and authors as varied as The Gruffalo, Jodi Picoult, Stephen King and David Mitchell. After deciding to emigrate to the other side of the world, I drove across Australia in an ex-army Landcruiser with my then boyfriend, got engaged at Ningaloo reef on Christmas Day, settled in Sydney, marketed feature films for Universal Pictures, worked as Brand Manager for Stephenie Meyer and started a family. It was the journey into motherhood that helped me focus on my writing and inspired this first novel.’
