Haleema

About

Haleema is a spoken-word poet and rapper. Her journey to this artform began almost by mistake – just as a joke – but it grew into something much more.

Haleema initially started off writing comedic-style parody raps and now writes on a wide range of topics. Spoken-word combines her love of performance with her love of language. Haleema has previously appeared as an artist at the National Young Writers’ Festival in 2014 and 2015, and will be performing at the Queensland Poetry Festival in 2017. She has performed at various poetry slams, talent shows and community events.
