Flick Chafer-Smith
Flick is a Ngarrindjeri woman from South Australia whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, weaving and spoken word. Through her art, she explores connection, healing, culture and identity.
Always searching for moments of peace and reflection, Flick found them within her creative practice. Painting allows her to stay connected to family, Country and memory, even when distance separates them. Weaving is a meditative process that grounds her, offering space for healing and quiet contemplation. Through spoken word, she shares experiences, emotions and stories that are often difficult to express in everyday conversation.
Flick's work is deeply influenced by cultural knowledge, personal journeys and the experiences that shape us all. Her creations weave together memory, resilience and belonging, inviting audiences to reflect on their own stories. She takes great pride in sharing her culture through her art and values the opportunity to create connection, understanding and conversation through creative expression.
