Emma King

About

Emma King, 22, is one of Collingwood Football Club’s marquee players for the inaugural AFL Women’s League season. Raised in Perth, she graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) in 2015. She’s a member of the AFL Players Association Women’s Advisory Committee.

After watching her brother play Auskick, she insisted on being signed up herself, and subsequently played Auskick and Juniors (up to under-14s) with the boys. She joined the Joondalup Falcons’ women’s team at 14, and at 19, the Coastal Titans – with whom she won the 2015 WAWFL Premiership. She jointly won the 2016 WAWFL Best and Fairest Award (with Kiara Bowers), and was drafted to Collingwood as a marquee player in August 2016, prompting a move to Melbourne.
