Elizabeth McCarthy
Elizabeth McCarthy is the Program Director of the Queenscliffe Literary Festival. She has worked as an editorial content producer for ABC Radio Melbourne, and in an engagement role for RMIT Culture. She previously worked for many years as a radio producer, presenter and mentor in community radio, and has worked as a sessional advisor to RMIT University media students and science communication students at the University of Melbourne. Her book reviews can be heard on ABC Radio, and she has been a judge for the Stella Prize and the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards, in 2019, 2025, and 2026. She regularly chairs events at Melbourne Writers Festival, The Wheeler Centre, Sydney Writers Festival and more. She previously worked as a music reviewer, and spent her formative years as a swamp punk drummer.
