Brooke Maddison is a writer and editor working on unceded Turrbal and Yuggera land. She is completing a Masters of Writing, Editing and Publishing at the University of Queensland and is the founder and co-editor of Crackle, the university’s anthology of creative writing. Her work has been published in Kill Your Darlings, Antithesis, Verity La, Colloquy, the Spineless Wonders Queer as Fiction anthology, and ACE III: Arresting Contemporary Stories by Emerging Writers, among others. In 2021 she was awarded a Next Chapter Fellowship, the UQP Writing Mentorship, a Curtis Brown Creative HW Fisher scholarship and a Neilma Sidney Literary Travel Fund grant. Brooke is currently working on fiction and nonfiction manuscripts, and she lives in Brisbane with her son.
