Alicia Sometimes

About

Alicia Sometimes is an Australian writer and broadcaster. She has performed her spoken word and poetry at many venues, festivals and events around the world. Her poems have been in Best Australian Science Writing, Best Australian Poems, Overland, Southerly, Meanjin, the Age, ABC TV’s Sunday Arts and more. She is a co-host of the Outer Sanctum podcast (ABC podcasts and radio). 

Alicia is often on ABC radio talking arts and books. She has been awarded residencies at Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers’ Centre, Varuna and the Melbourne Aquarium and in 2014 was a Fellow at the State Library of Victoria. Alicia is director and co-writer of the science-poetry planetarium shows, Elemental and Particle/Wave. She is currently a Science Gallery Melbourne ‘Leonardo’ (creative advisor). Her TedxUQ talk in 2019 was about the passion she feels combining art with science.
