[Read] Dispatches from The Paris End

BACK

The perceptive and playful chroniclers behind The Paris End visited The Wheeler Centre stage for a drink, a gossip and a dash of cultural irreverence at our first Up Late of 2026.

Somewhat sardonic, always sharp-eyed and often accompanied by illustrations from Aaron Billings, their columns have come to define what is worth talking about in Melbourne and the world at large – and how it should be talked about.

At this special edition of Up Late, illustrator Aaron Billings was on hand to capture the conversation in real time, and joined the tastemakers for an evening of literary revelry and light-hearted scrutiny: a spirited dive into the stories behind their new anthology, a toast to Melbourne’s quirks and contradictions and a gossip or two that didn’t make it to print.
