[Watch] We're All Just Trying Our Best
Watch rising stars Patrick Lenton and Sashi Perera come together to talk comedy, tragedy and the millennial condition, with host Brodie Lancaster.
Ask any millennial: life is hard. The defining characteristics of the generation? Existential dread, ironic detachment, a creeping sense of meaninglessness and being adrift in a world that promised more.
Sounds bleak, doesn’t it? Leave it to two brilliant and astutely funny authors to tackle millennial malaise with a sense of humour. In this panel, hear from Patrick Lenton, whose new book 'In Spite of You' is the queer revenge rom-com you’ve been waiting for; and Sashi Perera, author of the all-too-relatable coming-of-age-absurdly-late memoir Standstill.
This session digs into the secret lives of a generation who are just trying to do their best (while being, admittedly, the worst).
Please note that Sinéad Subbins was originally advertised as a part of this panel, but was unable to speak at this event due to unforeseen illness.
