[Watch] Victoria's Path to Treaty

[Watch] Victoria's Path to Treaty

Canada and New Zealand began signing treaties with their respective First Nations people centuries ago. Why is Australia so far behind?

Treaty offers an opportunity for everyone who calls Victoria home to move forward with mutual respect, recognition and a willingness to speak the truth about our shared history. But following the defeat of the Voice to Parliament referendum, as well as the loss of bipartisan support for the Treaty process in Victoria, where do we stand?

In this informative session, co-chair and Member for the Metropolitan Region of the Victorian First Peoples’ Assembly, Ngarra Murray, sheds light on the Victorian Treaty process.

Highlighting the ongoing strength and resistance of First Peoples and their continued connection to culture, community and Country, Murray offers a frank assessment of the work still be done as we walk the path toward Treaty together.
