[Watch] Up Late: Queer Myths for Lovers
Watch a sexy, modern and unashamedly queer take on Greek mythology as acclaimed actor and writer Zoe Terakes presents their debut short story collection, Eros, with host, Christos Tsiolkas.
An adept storyteller across mediums, Zoe Terakes is a vocal advocate for trans rights and has acted on both the stage and screen. They recently made their mark in A24's critically acclaimed horror film 'Talk to Me' and for their appearance in the Marvel Television series Iron Heart.
Now, in their fiction debut, Terakes explores the mythical past of ancient Greece, revealing how queerness, nature and myth have been intertwined since the advent of human storytelling. Across five electrifying short stories, Terakes draws from their Cretan heritage to weave together tales of gods and goddesses, armies and lovers, and bring worlds that have been written out of history back to the fore.
By turns erotic, surprising and always inventive, Eros celebrates queer life, lust, revenge, wrath and passion, reclaiming figures like Zeus, Eurydice, Hermaphroditus and Icarus (before his fateful flight into the sun). Settle into this vivid celebration of queer and trans lives across mythology and time.
