[Watch] Colm Tóibín: From Brooklyn to Long Island

Acclaimed Irish author Colm Tóibín joins host Jason Steger for an expansive conversation about his extraordinary literary career and his latest novel, Long Island – the long-awaited sequel to the beloved Brooklyn.

First published in 2009, Brooklyn followed Eilis Lacey as she left Ireland for a new life in New York. In Long Island, Tóibín returns to Eilis decades later – now married with children, seemingly settled into a quiet American life. But when a knock at the door disrupts the calm, Eilis is once again faced with the tides of exile, longing, and the enduring pull of the past.
