The 2024 Emerging Writers' Festival is back! Running 5-15 September, this is your opportunity to meet other emerging writers, enhance your creative skills, and grow your network. Witness performances of the spooky and the sensual, learn how to break into the arts scene, and connect to your local community! In-person & digital tickets are available natiowide.

PEN’s Lunchtime Letter Writing Program
PEN Melbourne campaigns for persecuted writers around the world. Come to PEN’s lunchtime letter writing program. Your letter will help increase international pressure and attention on writers who are silenced simply for the peaceful practice of their right to freedom of expression. Join us and support a writer who is currently in prison. Light refreshments and equipment provided.

20 Minute Cities
To celebrate ten years of the City of Literature Office we are returning to our first project 20 Minute Cities with our friends at Emerging Writers Festival. Join writers from Heidelberg, Jakarta, Kozhikode, Krakow, Ljubljana, Nottingham, Quebec City, Reykjavik, Tukums, Vilnius and Wroclaw as they walk you through their city, pointing out what their City of Literature great.

Neilma Sidney Literary Travel Fund
Round 12 of the Neilma Sidney Literary Travel Fund is now open for applications. Emerging, midcareer and established Australian writers and literary sector workers can apply for grants between $2,000 and $10,000 for travel-based career development. Applications close 15 September 2024.
