It’s that time of year when passionate readers and published writers (and critics) alike put together their lists of their favourite books of the year.
This week, we’ll be publishing the picks of the year from some of the writers we’ve worked with, and from Wheeler Centre staff. The first instalment will appear tomorrow - look out for it.

Australian crime writer Angela Savage has shared her favourite crime books of 2013 over at the blog Pulp Curry.
The Washington Post has created lists of top ten books of the year, 100 notable works of fiction and non-fiction.
The Millions has produced a series titled ‘A Year in Reading’, featuring the personal picks of writers like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Claire Messud and Sarah Waters.
