David Foster Wallace Mania Ramps Up

BACK

During his short lifetime, US writer David Foster Wallace seems to be loved and loathed in equal measure. No more. The writer of Infinite Jest and A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again took his own life in 2008 at the young age of 46, after a history of mental illness. He left behind an unfinished novel, The Pale King, due to be released on 15 April. If you are among the legions of DFW obsessives, here’s a glimpse into what may, or may not, be inside it. The Wheeler Centre is hosting readings and reminiscences on David Foster Wallace on 20 April to coincide with the novel’s release.
