Brunswick activist and occasional comedian Kon Karapanagiotidis is a recipient of an Order of Australia Medal, announced yesterday for Australia Day.
Kon, who has been a contributor to and guest of the Wheeler Centre, is the founder and chief executive of Melbourne’s Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.
The centre, founded in 2001, provides a range of services to asylum seekers, including health and legal assistance, student mentoring and detention visits.
