Dreamer is a production by Dream Puppets, one of Australia’s most celebrated puppetry theatre companies. Dreamer is also the name of the adventurous and inquisitive half-human, half-animal puppet who stars in several of the company’s productions. He’s a pretty big deal. When he’s not exploring space or deep-sea diving, he’s touring the world with his Dream Puppet puppeteers. He’s travelled from Korea to Argentina and has even appeared at the world’s biggest children’s festival in Italy.
In this exquisite adventure, Dreamer will travel through the galaxy while asleep in his bed. Everyday objects and actions will take on the surreal texture and possibility of dreams. With an original score and brilliant puppeteers using blacklight production, this is great school-holiday fun for imaginative kids of all ages.

Richard Hart
Richard Hart, director, producer and performer of Dream Puppets, was trained as an architect and later gained a postgraduate degree in professional practical art studies. In 2012 Richard was the artistic director of the inaugural Tarrengower Puppetfest, a role he performed again in 2014 . Richard is the current president of UNIMA Australia.
His training in puppetry comprises doing many workshop/training sessions with master puppeteers from Asia, Europe and America, and working with puppet companies in Australia. He has considerable experience in making and performing with puppets in film and TV. Richard has toured extensively in Australia and internationally over the past 13 years with his unique style of blacklight puppet theatre.
