Legendary Scottish satirist Irvine Welsh returns to the Wheeler Centre with his brand new book The Sex Lives of Siamese Twins. Tapping into the two major obsessions of contemporary life – how we look and where we live – the latest opus from the master of linguistic manipulation will be as controversial as it is lively.

Far from the rainy shores of Scotland, The Sex Lives of Siamese Twins takes place in eye-popping, body-obsessed Miami Beach, and follows the dark and humorous story of quick-tempered personal trainer Lucy Brennan, who takes manipulative Lena Sorenson on as a client. In typical Welsh fashion, sex, depravity, sado-masochism, murder and madness ensue, following in the vein of Welsh’s classic international bestsellers Trainspotting, Filth and The Acid House.

Join Wheeler Centre director Michael Williams as they discuss Irvine’s stellar career, and dissect the darkness that lurks behind the beachfronts of modern-day Miami.
