The Wheeler Centre presents a one-off night to remember, as we host bestselling author and Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin, as well as Michelle Fairley –who plays Catelyn Stark (née Tully) in the HBO series. Radio presenter and comedian Dan Debuf will be our host for the evening.
This blockbuster event will give Game of Thrones fans a rare insight into George R.R. Martin’s incredible imagination and unveil his future aspirations for the series, as well as the inner workings of the series’ epic journey from page to screen.
Get up close and personal with the world’s most sought-after television creative, and one of the stars of his creation – and get your favourite A Song of Ice and Fire book signed by the author.

This event is general admission. Seating at Dallas Brooks Hall is across three levels. We suggest you arrive early to choose your seat. Doors open at 7:00pm. Entrance to the venue is through the main doors, via Victoria Parade only.
Signings will take place onstage at the conclusion of the event. George R.R. Martin will sign one book per person – no one will miss out. There are no photographs onstage with George R.R. Martin, but you will be able to take photos from the signing queue. You will be able to purchase a token for a signing with Michelle Fairley and jump to the front of the George R.R. Martin signing queue.
There will also be a bookshop and Popcultcha shop located in the foyer of the Lounge Level. We recommend making any purchases before the event begins.

George R.R. Martin
George R.R. Martin is the author of 14 novels, including five volumes of A Song of Ice and Fire, which was adapted into the acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
George R.R. Martin was born September 20, 1948 in Bayonne, New Jersey. He began writing very young, selling monster stories to other neighborhood children for pennies, dramatic readings included. Later he became a comic book fan and collector in high school, and began to write fiction for comic fanzines (amateur fan magazines). Martin’s first professional sale was made in 1970 at age 21: ‘The Hero’, sold to Galaxy, published in February, 1971 issue. Other sales followed.
In Hollywood, Martin signed on as a story editor for Twilight Zone at CBS Television in 1986. In 1987 Martin became an executive story consultant for Beauty and the Beast at CBS. In 1988 he became a producer for Beauty and the Beast, then in 1989 moved up to co-supervising producer. He was executive producer for Doorways, a pilot which he wrote for Columbia Pictures Television, which was filmed during 1992-93.
Martin is a member of Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America and of Writers’ Guild of America, West.
