A recent Age headline told us “We’re safer than ever”, but with more than 30 years of policing behind him Greg Davies argues our streets are becoming more violent and attacks against police are increasing. Liquor licensing laws, better education and an increased availability of illicit drugs all add up to a more work for police. In this law and order election, Davies explains that Victoria has the smallest police force per capita in Australia as our demands on our justice system increase.
