About
Anna Walker’s beautifully crafted story houses meet Zana Fraillon’s museum of found objects, in an exhibition and workshops that explore community, sustainability and hope through storytelling and art.
In her Story Houses workshop, Anna will share the tales behind her collection of handmade story houses, which feature many of her beloved picture book characters. Participants will then have the opportunity to use found and handmade objects to craft their own story house.
In her Found Objects workshop, Zana will invite participants to imagine the stories of lost, forgotten and discarded objects. Dive into the story chest, choose an item, and imagine what it might have been – or what it might yet be.
Participants in the workshop will have their work displayed alongside Anna and Zana’s in No Vacancy Gallery.
Guests who attend the exhibition outside of the workshop times will also be able to contribute to its evolution, either by adding their own leaf to the Florette cubby-house installation, or by composing a message in a bottle.
Workshops are ideal for upper primary/lower secondary students, while the exhibition is open to all children and families looking to connect through stories.
