Council Chambers, Melbourne Town Hall

The heritage-listed Melbourne Town Hall, completed in 1870, has been the place where so many of the decisions that have helped to shape Melbourne have been made. It is the hub of Melbourne’s cultural and civic activity, playing host to theatrical performances, weddings, receptions and exhibitions.

To access Melbourne Town Hall by public transport, catch any tram which runs along Swanston Street; alternatively, it’s a two-block walk from Flinders Street railway station.

The nearest public carpark is located at City Square, beneath City Square and the Westin Hotel on the opposite side of Collins Street.
