Anneliz Marie Erese

About

Anneliz Marie Erese is a Filipino writer whose works have appeared in Going Down Swinging, The Saturday Paper, Meanjin, Island Online and Cordite Poetry Review, among others. She is an alumnus of Express Media’s Toolkits: Fiction program (2017). Her short fiction has been recognised in the Aestas Short Story Competition (2017) and the Nick Joaquin Asia Pacific Literary Awards (2019). In 2022, a suite of her prose poems won the Deakin Postgraduate Prize in Writing and Literature and was published in the SPARKS anthology. In the same year, she won the Deborah Cass Prize. She was named the 2023 Melbourne scholar of Faber Writing Academy’s Novel Writing Course and received a Hot Desk Fellowship from The Wheeler Centre. She is currently a writer-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center. She lives on unceded Wurundjeri lands.
